Babar Azam’s unbeaten 63-ball 105 went in vain as Central Punjab failed to defend 200 against Northern in Match 11 of the National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi. Riding on Babar’s knock, Central Punjab piled 200/2 after opting to bat. Ahmed Shehzad scored 20-ball 37, and Shoaib Malik 21-ball 31 not out.
Haider Ali then struck six sixes and as many fours in his unbeaten 53-ball 91 to guide Northern reach the target with just two balls to spare. Mohammad Nawaz (41 in 21 balls) Asif Ali (28 in 14) also chipped in with useful contributions to make that happen.
Match 12, Sindh v Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Sindh 150/7 in 20 overs (Manzoor 54; Asif Afridi 2-20) lost to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 156/4 in 17.4 overs (Fakhar 49; Anwar Ali 1-11) by 6 wickets with 14 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Fakhar Zaman.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Sindh by six wickets in Match 12 of the competition. They restricted Sindh to 150/7, and chased that don with six wickets to spare.
Earlier, Khurram Manzoor top-scored with 37-ball 54 in Sindh’s total. Imran Khan returned 2-24, and Asif Afridi 2-20. Fakhar Zaman (49) and Sahibzada Farhan (45) starred with bat to take Khyber Pakhtunkhwa past the finishing line with 14 balls to spare.
