Quetta Gladiators beat Islamabad United by five wickets in Match 18 of the Pakistan Super League 2022 in Lahore. They chased 200 in the final over, thanks to Jason Roy’s 27-ball 54, Sarfaraz Ahmed’s 32-ball 50 and Umar Akmal’s unbeaten 8-ball 23.

For Islamabad, Shadab Khan returned 3-25, but received little support. Liam Dawson took 1-30, while Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Wasim and Hasan Ali conceded 137 in their combined 10.4 overs for a solitary wicket.

Earlier, Alex Hales top-scored for Islamabad with a 38-ball 62 after Sarfaraz asked them to bat. Faheem (55 in 28 balls) and Wasim (12* in 2) then chipped in to take their side to 199/8, but eventually, it was not enough.

Shahid Afridi and James Faulkner took two wickets each for Quetta, while Naseem Shah and Noor Ahmad had one apiece. Iftikhar Ahmed and Ghulam Mudassar bowled four wicketless overs between them for 51 runs.
