Pakistan beat West Indies by 63 runs to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. They rode on fifties from Mohammad Rizwan and Haider Ali to post 200/6 before bowling out West Indies for 137.
Akeal Hosein struck in the first over the game, inducing an inside edge off Babar Azam, which was neatly grabbed by Shai Hope. Babar got out for a two-ball duck. He has managed just 27 runs in his last four innings.
Fakhar Zaman (10) fell cheaply as well, before a 105-run stand between Rizwan and Haider lifted Pakistan from 35/2 to 140/2 after 15 overs. Rizwan struck 10 fours for his 52-ball 78. Haider scored 68 in 39 balls before a quick 30 from Mohammad Nawaz propelled Pakistan to an imposing total.
With a mountain to climb, West Indies lost three batters inside the Powerplay. Mohammad Wasim Jr got Nicholas Pooran with a toe-crushing yorker, and pinned Devon Thomas leg-before to reduce the hosts to 40/3.
Shadab Khan (3-17) bowled a frugal spell, and also got Rovman Powell (23 off 15). West Indies were eventually bowled out for 137, with Hope (31) as the highest scorer. Wasim Jr finished with four wickets to his name.
