New South Wales fast bowler Harry Conway has been called into the team.as Pattinso’s replacement. Mark Steketee is likely to be the replacement in the starting XI.
Pattinson’s injury further increases doubts over his fitness levels to play for the national side. He had made a comeback during the Ashes where he fared reasonably well but the latest injury further clouds his future.
Pattinson did not play the home Tests against Pakistan as Pat Cummins, Mitch Starc and Josh Hazlewood helped Australia to a 2-0 Test Series win.
Against New Zealand, Hazlewood’s injury paved way for Pattinson, who played the last two Tests and picked up six wickets at an average of 22.17.
Meanwhile, Jack Wildermuth replaces Marcus Stoinis in the team. The Queensland all-rounder picked up a five-wicket haul recently and is in form. Stoinis might still return for the next Shield game but is unlikely to be bowl in the fixture if selected.
The Australia A squad has five Queenslanders, three from North South Wales (Henriques, Kurtis Patterson and Harry Conway), two from Victoria (Marcus Harris and Nic Madison) and one from Western Australia (Josh Inglis).
