The Pakistan Super League (PSL) became the latest victim of the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) pandemic in the sporting world as the PSL organizers on Tuesday decided to postpone the knockouts.
The league stage was completed somehow with several of the last few matches being played inside closed stadiums in Lahore and Karachi. Two semifinals — Multan Sultans vs Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars — were scheduled to be played at Lahore on Tuesday as well until the decision to postpone the league came out in the morning.
But the Pakistan Cricket Board has already announced that it has just been postponed for now and could be rescheduled to be played later.

The decision was mainly taken as the last 24 hours saw a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases in Pakistan. That made the officials concerned about the health and safety of the players.
PSL 2020 is now just the latest addition in a long list of postponed events that already consists of major international series and domestic leagues like the India vs South Africa ODI series, England tour of Sri Lanka, the Indian Premier League, Momentum One Day Cup in South Africa and also the ODI and T20I series between Australia and New Zealand.
