Multan Sultans secured their maiden Pakistan Super League title after defeating Peshawar Zalmi in the final. Sohaib Maqsood and Rilee Rossouw struck brilliant half-centuries before bowlers restricted Peshawar 47 runs short of the target.
Multan Sultan came to the final off a 31-run victory over Islamabad United in the Qualifier. Islamabad then went on to lose Eliminator 2 and crashed out of the tournament. They were the table-toppers in the league stage, winning eight out of ten games. Four teams accrued exactly ten points, out of which Lahore Qalandars failed to qualify for the playoffs, owing to the low net run rate.
With two wins and eight losses, Quetta Gladiators finished at the bottom of the points table. They could only manage one victory in the UAE-leg of the tournament.
