The 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League will resume on 9 June, with the final to be staged on 24 June. There will be as many as six double-headers, and all matches will be played in Abu Dhabi.
PSL 2021 had to be suspended midway after several players and support staff contracted COVID-19. Two weeks ago, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that they have received approvals from the UAE government to conduct the rest of the league in Abu Dhabi.
There will be 20 matches in all, including the Playoffs. PCB will announce the complete schedule shortly. Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United are expected to square off in the opening fixture of the UAE leg.
Before the suspension, Karachi Kings, led by Babar Azam, were on the top of the table, followed by United and the Qalandars.
The rejigged schedule will also affect Pakistan’s tour of England. Originally scheduled to depart on 23 June, the Pakistan squad will now reach the UK two days later. They will play three ODIs and as many T20Is.
