Lahore Qalandars will host defending champions Multan Sultans in the final of Pakistan Super League 2022 at the Gaddafi Stadium on 27 February.
The teams had met in the Qualifier, where the Sultans won despite setting a target of only 164. The Qalandars kept losing regular wickets and could only manage 135/9.
The Sultans opening pair of Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood has done well throughout the season. Both feature among the leading run-getters of the tournament. However, Rizwan's inability to capitalise on field restrictions often puts pressure on the middle order. His 532 runs have come at 127, and he played 51 balls for his unbeaten 53 in the last game.
Shahnawaz Dahani and David Willey will spearhead their pace attack. Dahani, in particular, has been effective in the death overs.
The Qalandars, meanwhile, defeated Islamabad United by six runs in Eliminator 2. A fifty from Abdullah Shafique took them to 168/7 before the bowlers bowled out the United to 162. They have a strong batting line up, but Mohammad Hafeez and Kamran Ghulam need to score quicker in the middle overs.
