The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the final schedule of the remainder of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches. There will be six double-headers between 9 and 24 June, and all 20 matches will be played in Abu Dhabi.
‘The remaining HBL Pakistan Super League 6 matches will be played in Abu Dhabi from June 9-24, before the Pakistan men’s side’s departure for Manchester from the UAE capital on June 25,’ PCB issued a statement on 3 June.
Five double-headers will be played in the league stage, while a sixth, on 21 June, will feature the Qualifier and Eliminator 1. The tournament will resume on 9 June with fourth-placed Lahore Qalandars taking on third-placed Islamabad United.
The PCB added that the delayed start of the tournament was not their fault as the ‘logistical and operational challenges’ were beyond their control. They also mentioned the delay will also ‘allow the sides sufficient time to train, practice and gear up for the biggest prize in Pakistan’s cricket calendar.’
Lahore and Islamabad are the only two teams that have started training in Abu Dhabi. The other four teams will join them soon.
