Madhya Pradesh batted through Day 3 of the final of the 2021/22 Ranji Trophy, at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to finish on 368/3. They trail Mumbai by six runs in the first innings. At the crease are Rajat Patidar (72*) and captain Aditya Shrivastava (11*), while Akshat Raghuvanshi is yet to bat. If MP get those seven runs, Mumbai will need an outright win to claim the Ranji Trophy, so MP will want to bat for as long as possible.
Yash Dubey (133) and Shubham Sharma (116) had got together on the second afternoon on 47/1, after Tushar Deshpande (1-73) had trapped Himanshu Mantri (31) leg-before. They added 222 before Mohit Avasthi (1-53) had Shubham caught behind. However, Dubey continued, adding another 72 with Patidar before edging one off Shams Mulani (1-117). Patidar and Shrivastava then batted for the rest of the day.
