Bengal went through the formalities on Day 5 to become the fourth team to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2021/22 Ranji Trophy, to be played from 14 June. They will meet Madhya Pradesh, while Mumbai will play Uttar Pradesh in the other semi-final.

Here, at the Just Cricket Academy Ground in Bengaluru, Bengal resumed the last day on 76/3, with a lead of 551 runs. Shahbaz Nadeem (5-59) removed Anustup Majumdar (38) and Abishek Porel (34) to pick up his 21st five-wicket haul in First-class cricket, but not before they helped Manoj Tiwary add 77 and 72 for the fourth and five wickets. Tiwary himself got his 27th hundred before he was run out. The captains agreed to a draw when Shahbaz Ahmed fell four short of a fifty.

Karnataka 253 (Ravikumar Samarth 57; Saurabh Kumar 4-73) and 114 (Srinivas Sharath 23*; Saurabh Kumar 3-36) lost to Uttar Pradesh 155 (Priyam Garg 39; Ronit More 3-47) and 213/5 (Karan Sharma 93*; Vijaykumar Vyshak 3-47) by 5 wickets. Player of the Match: Karan Sharma.
