Suryakumar Yadav anchored the defending champions Mumbai Indians to a stellar five-wicket win against Royal Challengers Bangalore. A win that took them to the top of the table and almost one foot in the playoffs.
India coach Ravi Shastri responded to Suryakumar Yadav’s class innings against Royal Challengers Bangalore by tweeting, “Surya namaskar
. Stay strong and patient.”

Shastri’s tweet comes should come in as a relief for many. Yadav who has amassed 362 runs in 12 games this season wasn’t included in any of the squads for the Australia tour later in November. Many have criticized BCCI for not giving him a place in the squad given the fact that he has been delivering with the bat for quite some time now.
The 29-year old scored 512 and 424 runs for MI in the last two seasons. To compliment that he has been performing well in the Ranji Trophy as well. Yadav has 5326 runs in 77 first-class games to his name. Despite that, he hasn’t received his India cap yet.
MI’s stand-in captain Kieron Pollard said after the game against RCB, “Deep down inside he must be very very disappointed to not have donned the blue for India. He just keeps getting better. Again as an individual if you keep staying consistent, you will be rewarded. Nothing happens before its time.”
This tweet from the India coach should be a sign of good times ahead for Surya.
