Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of the India vs England Test series: REPORTS Image

India’s star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the Test series against England. According to Cricbuzz, the 32-year old who was sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore after dislocating his thumb in the Sydney Test won’t be able to recover during the ongoing India-England Test series.

Earlier there were conversations about Jadeja being available for selection in the final two Tests. However, current reports suggest that his recovery is taking more time than expected.

The Saurashtra-based all-rounder had been in fine form for India in the recently concluded tour of Australia and being the second-highest wicket-taker for India in the last decade would’ve wanted to feature in an important series.

With Jadeja not being fit, Shahbaz Nadeem not looking in good touch, and uncertainty around Axar Patel’s fitness, Kuldeep Yadav may get his chance in the XI in the second Test which begins in Chennai from Saturday.

The 26-year old left-arm unorthodox spinner hasn’t featured in India’s Test team since the Sydney Test in 2019. He last played a Test match at home in October 2018 against West Indies and has been raring to go for a while now.

With England 1-0 up in the four-match Test series and India under pressure to deliver in the next game with a World Test Championship Final ticket at stake, it will be interesting to see what changes are made for the second Test.
