Ravindra Jadeja, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder, has praised the supportive atmosphere in the CSK dugout ahead of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The left-arm spinner has been an integral part of the CSK team, having played for them since 2012, and has helped them win multiple titles.
Speaking to Star Sports, Jadeja revealed that the CSK management and owners never put pressure on any players, regardless of their seniority or form. He also highlighted the equality among players, where even a U19 player is treated with the same respect and given the same treatment as senior players.
Jadeja's comments come after reports of friction between him and the team management over captaincy during the IPL 2022 season. However, he clarified that the issue is now a thing of the past, and he has moved on.
The CSK franchise has also been instrumental in building a deeper connection with the fans, according to Jadeja. He spoke about how they made arrangements for 2-3 thousand fans to stay in Pune during the 2018 IPL season, where the team played its home games due to a legal dispute. The franchise took care of their stay and food arrangements and provided them with CSK jerseys.
With CSK now able to play their home games at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai, Jadeja is excited to see the fans' enthusiasm. He mentioned how 15-20 thousand fans come to watch the team practice, and with MS Dhoni back in the team, the upcoming season is going to be a big occasion for fans to see him in action.
Jadeja's comments provide an insight into the supportive atmosphere in the CSK dugout and the franchise's efforts to connect with its fans. With the IPL set to kick off soon, it remains to be seen how CSK performs in the upcoming season.
