Bangladesh won their first-ever ODI series on South African soil after winning the third ODI by nine wickets at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. They bowled out South Africa for 154 and chased it down in just 26.3 overs.
Taskin Ahmed was adjudged Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul, and the Player of the Series for finishing as the leading wicket-taker.
Janneman Malan (39) and Quinton de Kock (12) got South Africa off to a breezy start before the latter got out to Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the seventh over. Taskin then bowled Kyle Verreynne and had Malan caught by Mushfiqur Rahim. Shakib Al Hasan then bowled Temba Bavuma to reduce South Africa to 71/4.
If not for the twenties from Keshav Maharaj and Dwaine Pretorius, who also struck the only six of the match, South Africa might not have even have reached a hundred.
Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das then added 127 for the opening wicket to drive Bangladesh inches within the target. Tamim remained unbeaten on 87, while Das fell for 48. Iqbal's knock comprised of 14 fours.
