S Sreesanth announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, on Wednesday, 9 March.

'For the next generation of cricketers..I have chosen to end my first class cricket career. This decision is mine alone, and although I know this will not bring me happiness, it is the right and honorable action to take at this time in my life. I ve cherished every moment ,' tweeted Sreesanth.

Sreesanth featured for India in 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is, finishing with 87, 75, and 7 wickets respectively. In a historic ICC T20 World Cup final against Pakistan, Sreesanth caught Misbah-ul-Haq to secure a victory for India.

In 2013, Sreesanth was handed a life suspension by the BCCI for his alleged involvement in spot fixing. The Supreme Court later reduced his ban for seven years, which ended in 2020.

He represented Kerala in the domestic cricket, and last played for them earlier this year, against Meghalaya, where he took two wickets.
