Let us have a look at how each of the Sri Lankan players fared in the three-match ODI series against India.
Avishka Fernando 8 (M 3, R 159, Ave 53, SR 78, C 3)
Avishka scored 33, 50 and 76 and finished at the top of the run-scorers tally. He was not in his best of form before the series.
Charith Asalanka 7 (M 3, R 127, Ave 42.33, SR 78)
An impressive outing for Asalanka, Sri Lanka’s best batter in the second match.
Chamika Karunaratne 6.5 (M 3, R 90, Ave 90, SR 115, W 1, Ec 4.78)
Karunaratne played two breezy unbeaten cameos. Animated on the field, he celebrated his only wicket in a YouTube-worthy style.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa 6 (M 3, R 89, Ave 29.66, SR 113)
Rajapaksa’s golden duck was sandwiched between a 22-ball 24 and a 56-ball 65.
Dasun Shanaka 5 (M 3, R 55, SR 73, W 2, Ec 3.90)
Two points for Shanaka for his excellent review to get Suryakumar Yadav in the third ODI. That changed the dynamics of the contest. He did not bat in full flow, but bowled tightly for his two wickets.
Minod Bhanuka 5 (M 3, R 70, Ave 23.33, SR 68, C 4)
Bhanuka looked in good touch in the second match but his strike rate was questionable in the other two. He held four catches behind the stumps.
Akila Dananjaya 4.5 (M 1, W 3, Ave 14.66, Ec 4.40)
Dananjaya looked ordinary in his opening spell in the third match, but came back strongly after the rain break. He took three wickets in the middle overs to trigger a collapse.
Praveen Jayawickrama 4.5 (M 1, W 3, Ave 19.66, Ec 5.90)
Jayawickrama bowled accurately, controlling his flight throughout the innings. He can be Sri Lanka’s next big thing among the bowlers.
Wanindu Hasaranga 4.5 (M 2, W 3, Ave 27.33, Ec 4.31)
Hasaranga returned 3-37 in the second match, but missed the third due to a niggle.
Dhananjaya de Silva 3 (M 3, R 48, SR 59, W 2, Ec 7.37)
Dhananjaya, Sri Lanka’s most-experienced player in the series, had little impact. All he managed was 14, 32 and 2 at a strike rate of 59, while he went for over seven an over for his two wickets.
Ramesh Mendis 2.5 (M 1, R 15, SR 83)
Mendis made an unbeaten 18-ball 15 in the third match to guide Sri Lanka reach the target with eight overs to spare.
Dushmantha Chameera 2 (M 3, W 2, Ave 81, Ec 6.43)
A quiet series for Chameera, who only managed to pick two wickets at 6.43.
Lakshan Sandakan 2 (M 2, W 2, Ec 6.64)
Sandakan was expensive in 18.4 overs, returning 2-124.
Kasun Rajitha 1.5 (M 1, W 1, Ec 7.40)
Rajitha replaced Udana in the second match, but did not make full use of it.
Isuru Udana 1 (M 1, W 0, Ec 13.50)
Udana bowled two overs in his only match, conceded 27 for no success.
