Sri Lanka vs South Africa, 2nd ODI: Preview, Blitzpools fantasy, probable XIs Image

Sri Lanka and South Africa will be up against each other in the second ODI of the three-match series at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, on Saturday, 4 September. South Africa must win this game to keep the series alive after losing the first ODI by 14 runs.

South Africa will take the field without their regular captain, Temba Bavuma, who has been ruled out due to a thumb injury. Bavuma was batting on 38 when an erratic throw hit him in the gloves. He retired, South Africa lost momentum and fell 14 short of the target. Aiden Markram scored 96 and Rassie van der Dussen 59.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, were lifted by a 115-ball 118 from Avishka Fernando and a 62-ball 72 from Charith Asalanka. But they will will expect a bit more discipline and consistency from their fast bowlers. Dushmantha Chameera conceded 55 in just seven overs, while Chamika Karunaratne bowled just three overs.

  • Wanindu Hasaranga is a good pick for your fantasy team. He is the main spinner for the side, and also put handy contributions with the bat.
  • Heinrich Klassen should be your sole wicketkeeper.
