Sri Lanka vs West Indies, 2nd Test Day 5 Preview: Uphill task ahead for visitors to level the series Image

Dhananjaya de Silva as good as single-handedly helped Sri Lanka recover on Day 4 of the second Test match against West Indies in Galle. Resuming the day on 46/2, Sri Lanka finished on 328/8, well in control. De Silva is still at the crease on 153, with Lasith Embuldeniya on 25*. They put on an unbroken 107 before the close of play.

Sri Lanka have already taken an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match series. It will be interesting to see whether they go for a 2-0 sweep on a spinners-friendly pitch or stay happy with their lead. The first option is on the cards, considering the forms of Ramesh Mendis, Embuldeniya and Praveen Jayawickrama.

Whatever the Sri Lankan approach, it would be an uphill task for West Indies. They fought hard to stay in the battle for the first three days of this contest before letting the match slip through ordinary bowling and fielding. And, if rain interrupts on the final day, there would be little chance left for them to stage a miracle.

Betway Fantasy Tips

- Sri Lanka should declare early in the first session. If they do, back Mendis, Embuldeniya and Jayawickrama.

Nkrumah Bonner and Kraigg Brathwaite hold key for West Indies.
