Sai Sudharsan vows to return stronger after surgery for a sports hernia, missing upcoming tournaments while appreciating the support from BCCI and medical teams.

Sai Sudharsan expressed his determination to return to the cricket field stronger than ever following successful surgery. He shared his gratitude towards the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the medical team through a social media update on Tuesday.

As reported by various media outlets, the 23-year-old cricketer from Tamil Nadu underwent surgery for a sports hernia in London. His recent health issues have limited his participation, as he managed to play just one match in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy before transitioning to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. Although the exact timeline for his return to competitive cricket remains uncertain, he is anticipated to miss the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, which is set to commence later this month.

Sudharsan's recent performance highlights his potential. He was a part of the India A squad during their tour in Australia in November. During this tour, he showcased his batting prowess by accumulating a total of 127 runs across two four-day matches, including a century scored in the first game. His contributions extended into the domestic circuit, where he notably achieved a double century against Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, along with a significant innings of 82 against Saurashtra in his other match.

In terms of his future prospects, Sudharsan’s talent has not gone unnoticed. He was retained by the Gujarat Titans, his Indian Premier League franchise, for a substantial sum of Rs. 8.5 crore prior to the mega auction. This further underscores the confidence the franchise has in his abilities as a promising player.

As he begins his recovery process, cricket enthusiasts and supporters remain optimistic about Sudharsan’s comeback. His recent exploits on the field have established him as a valuable asset, and his resilience during this challenging time will certainly play a crucial role in his return to the sport.
