Supernovas and Velocity will meet for this year’s Women’s T20 Challenge Final at the MCA Stadium in Pune on 28 May. The Supernovas have won the title thrice, while Velocity will be eying their maiden title. Supernovas are coming off a defeat against Velocity that will make them motivated for the clash. Supernovas, led by Deepti Sharma, have been the favourites of the tournament overs years. After winning the first match, against the Trailblazers, they lost to Velocity following a major batting collapse at the top. Even when they beat the Trailblazers, their bowling seemed off-colour for the first ten overs. Velocity, too, conceded 190 in their last match – a tournament record – by the Trailblazers.
Both teams would be keen to make a strong comeback in this match after their last defeats. They have met four times in four editions of the Women’s T20 Challenge, and the Supernovas have a 3-1 lead. However, Velocity may have an edge here, following their only win over the Supernovas this season.
