The defending T20 world champions are concerned after three players, including captain Aaron Finch, suffered hamstring injuries against Ireland. Finch's 63 against Ireland marked a return to form for Australia.
Multiple injuries, including one to Aaron Finch after the captain played the game-winning hand at the Gabba, marred a convincing victory.
Finch, who will undergo tests on Tuesday, batted for all but 19 balls of Australia's innings before taking to the field to begin his team's time with the ball. However, after a sprint, Finch pulled up in discomfort and left the field.
When Australia's bowling innings came to an end, Matthew Wade was given the captaincy duties, and they needed three different replacement fielders to fill in for Aaron Finch (right hamstring twinge), Tim David (left hamstring), and Marcus Stoinis (unknown).
Given Finch's 35-year-old history of hamstring issues, early indications suggested the defending T20 world champions were most concerned about his condition.
"I shall undergo a scan tomorrow because I have a history of hammy twinges. It doesn't seem too bad right now, but let's wait till the scan to see how it turns out "during the post-match presentation, Finch said.
"It wasn't the simplest wicket, and it moved a lot more slowly than we anticipated. They bowled a lot of cutters early in the innings, making it difficult to establish a rhythm. We did well to reach 180 "said he.
With this victory over Ireland, Australia's net run rate increased to -0.304, which is still below that of England but lifted them up to second place in Group 1 with five points from four games. Ireland, on the other hand, is in fourth place with three points.
