The Mumbai Indians received a boost ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 when Sachin Tendulkar paid a visit to the team's specifically constructed bio-secure bubble, known as MI Arena, in Mumbai. After joining the biosecure bubble at a city hotel, Tendulkar, a mentor for the franchise, had a conversation with the players.
The Mumbai Indians are currently ensconced in a biosecure bubble as they prepare to compete for their sixth IPL title. The group has been putting in some serious practice time at Reliance's Jio International facility in Navi Mumbai.
When Tendulkar checked into the hotel for isolation ahead of entering the bubble, he received a pleasant surprise.
The hotel features a timeline of his cricket career, from his First-class debut in 1988. Tendulkar released a video of the hotel's arrangements, which included several of his personal events, including his 1995 marriage to Anjali Mehta. His image was embossed on a pillow on the bed.
'This is what I observed when I walked into the room,' said the Master Blaster as he videotaped the arrangements. He later praised the hotel employees for their thoughtful gesture.
Tendulkar, who led the Mumbai Indians in the IPL from 2008 to 2011, has been, and will be, part of the team's think tank, communicating with and advising the players.
