BCCI stated on Monday that fast bowler Umesh Yadav has passed the fitness test and been included in the Indian team for the last two Test matches against England.
“Team India fast bowler Umesh Yadav appeared for a fitness test on Sunday, 21st February at Motera. He has cleared his fitness test and has been added to the squad for the last two Tests of the ongoing India-England Test series,” read the statement.
“Shardul Thakur has been released from the squad to take part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy,” it further read.
India had missed the services of Umesh Yadav in the final two Test matches in Australia. The 33-year old had sustained a calf injury during the Melbourne Test.
The four-match Test series between India and England is currently level at 1-1.
