Shaw’s belligerent 165 in the morning catapulted him past Padikkal and secure top spot on the runs chart. Padikkal, who came into the match with four consecutive centuries under his belt, scored 64 later in the day, while Samarth got just 8. Shaw’s tally is also the most in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
