After 95 games in 10 days, seven teams have secured a quarter-finals berth in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021
The group stage action of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 was concluded on Monday, 1st March 2021. A total of 95 games were played across six groups.
Gujarat, Mumbai, and Uttarakhand were the only three teams to win all their games during the group stages.
Gujarat topped Elite Group A. Baroda finished second after losing just one game out of their five.
The scenario in Elite Group B was a little more intense with four teams securing 12 points. Andhra topped the group by a superior net run rate (NRR) than Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.
Defending champions Karnataka also topped Elite Group C courtesy of a better NRR than Uttar Pradesh and Kerala, who also had 16 points.
Mumbai had a 100 percent record in Elite Group D. Delhi who finished second on the table with 16 points beat Baroda to secure a spot in the eliminator with Uttarakhand.
Elite Group E was topped by Saurashtra who won four out of their five games, grabbing 16 points and a healthy net run-rate which didn’t come into play as the second team on the table Chandigarh, only had 12 points.
Uttarakhand won all their games in the plate group to secure an eliminator spot against Delhi on 7th March.
All the table-toppers from the five elite groups (Gujarat, Andhra, Karnataka, Mumbai, and Saurashtra) and the two next best teams from the five groups (Uttar Pradesh and Kerala) have now qualified for the quarter-finals. The winner of the eliminator between Uttarakhand and Delhi will become the final team to play in the quarter-finals.
