Virat Kohli, one of India's most talented batsmen, will inaugurate the first edition of the 'one8 Run' in Bengaluru on March 26. This run is open to participants of all levels and will feature three categories of competition: 5kms, 10kms, and 18kms.
This event, organized by Kohli's 'one8' brand, aims to promote a healthier lifestyle and encourage people to become part of a larger running community. Kohli, who has a personal interest in fitness, will kick off the event with a flag-off ceremony.
"Bengaluru and fitness both hold a special place in my heart, and launching the one8 run here is a great opportunity to engage with the city's people and build a strong community of runners," Kohli said in a statement.
On the cricketing front, Kohli will be participating in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia starting Thursday in Nagpur. Despite his successful white-ball form, Kohli has struggled in Test cricket in recent times, with his last Test century dating back to November 2019. However, he has a good track record against Australia and this series provides him with a great opportunity to get back to his best in Test cricket.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will continue with tests in New Delhi, Dharamshala, and Ahmedabad after the first match in Nagpur. India is the current holder of the trophy, having won the last three series against Australia, while Australia last won a Test series in India in 2004.
