Leicestershire v Durham, Grace Road

Leicestershire 168/9 in 20 overs (Steel 53; Raine 3-19) lost to Durham 170/9 in 19 overs (Eckersley 50*; Lilley 3-26) by 2 wickets with 6 balls to spare. Player of the match: Ned Eckersley.

Ned Eckersley’s unbeaten 50 helped guide Durham beat Leicestershire in a North Group T20 Blast contest by two wickets. Earlier, Scott Steel’s 53 had helped Leicestershire reach 168/9 in the first innings. Matty Potts and Ben Raine claimed three wickets each.

Chasing 169, Durham were reduced to 108/8 at one stage. Eckersley and Liam Trevaskis (30*) hit an unbeaten 62-run stand for the ninth wicket. The pair scored 24 runs off Naveen-ul-Haq’s 19th over to take Durham past the finishing line.

Northamptonshire v Nottinghamshire, Wantage Road

Nottinghamshire 214/7 in 20 overs (Clarke 136; Parnell 2-30) beat Northamptonshire 200/7 in 20 overs (Cobb 62; Ball 3-58) by 14 runs. Player of the Match: Joe Clarke.

Joe Clarke hit 65-ball 136 to help Nottinghamshire beat Northamptonshire by 14 runs at Wantage Road. Riding on Clarke’s innings, which included 6 fours and 11 sixes, Notts pile up 214/7 in the first innings. Wayne Parnell (2-30) was the pick of the Northants bowlers.

In reply, Josh Cobb smashed a 32-ball 62 before falling to Luke Fletcher. Rob Keogh (45 off 31) tried, but in the end, it was not enough to chase the massive target.

Derbyshire v Warwickshire, Derby

Derbyshire 160/8 in 20 overs (Hudson-Prentice 41; Braithwaite 2-24) lost to Warwickshire 161/7 in 19 overs (Mousley 56; Critchley 2-21) by 3 wickets with 6 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Dan Mousley.

Dan Mousley top-scored with 56 off 40 to ensure Warwickshire’s three-wicket victory over Derbyshire. Earlier, Fynn Hudson-Prentice hit 41 in 22 balls before being run out by Carlos Brathwaite to help Derbyshire post 160/8.

Coming at the chase, Warwickshire were left reeling at 18/3. Sam Hain (25) and Michael Burgess (22) then supported Mousley from the other end to reach the target with six balls to spare.

Glamorgan v Essex, Cardiff

Essex 153/6 in 20 overs (Buttleman 36; Smith 2-13) lost to Glamorgan 156/3 in 19 overs (Selman 65; Plom 1-30) by 7 wickets with 6 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Nicholas Selman.

Fifties by Nick Selman (65) and Marnus Labuschagne (59) guided Glamorgan to beat Essex by seven wickets in a South Group contest at Cardiff.

Earlier, apart from Will Buttleman (36) and Michael Pepper (29), no Essex batter went past 25 in their total of 153/6. Ruaidhri Smith picked up 2-13 in his three overs. In reply, Glamorgan were firmly in control throughout the chase.

Worcestershire v Lancashire, New Road

Lancashire 132/4 in 20 overs (Buttler 55; Morris 2-25) lost to Worcestershire 133/2 in 17.2 overs (D’Oliveira 61*; Parkinson 2-32) by 8 wickets with 16 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Brett D’Oliveira.

Jos Buttler’s first fifty of the summer was not enough to stop Worcestershire from winning by eight wickets at New Road. They have now replaced Lancashire at the top of the points table.

Buttler top-scored with 46-ball 55 to take Lancashire to 132/4, but Riki Wessels and Brett D’Oliveira (61*) shared a 79-run opening stand in nine overs to help Worcestershire win with 16 balls to spare.

Kent v Gloucestershire, Canterbury

Kent 183/5 in 20 overs (Leaning 81*; Payne 3-30) beat Gloucestershire 178/8 in 20 overs (Howell 44; Denly 2-20) by 5 runs. Player of the Match: Jack Leaning.

Riding on Jack Leaning’s unbeaten 81, Kent climbed the top of the South Group table after a nail-biting five-run win over Gloucestershire at Canterbury. Leaning came in when Gloucestershire were struggling on 16/3 after three overs. He added 76 with Daniel Bell-Drummond (51) to take Kent to 183/5. Leaning and Darren Stevens (16*) smashed 27 off the final over, bowled by Josh Shaw.

In reply, Chris Dent (40) and Glenn Phillips (38) scored at a rapid pace. Gloucestershire needed 10 off the final over to win the contest. In the end, they fell five short, thanks to an excellent last over from Frederick Klaassen (2-36).
