Matt Milnes’ (5-22) maiden Twenty20 five-wicket haul helped Kent to beat Glamorgan by 40 runs in a South Group contest at Cardiff. Earlier, Jordan Cox (32*) and Sam Billings (30) guided Kent to a reasonable total of 144/7. Prem Sisodiya (2-28), Dan Douthwaite (2-17) and Marnus Labuschagne (2-22) picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Glamorgan collapsed to 66/6 at the halfway mark against Milnes. He removed the tournament’s top-scorer Labuschagne (22) and Colin Ingram (17) in successive overs before James Weighell (24 off 20) took the total above 100. Milnes then wrapped Glamorgan up for 104 in 17.4 overs.
Worcestershire v Yorkshire, New Road
Yorkshire 216/6 in 20 overs (Bairstow 112; Dwarshuis 4-31) beat Worcestershire 122 in 16.3 overs (Moeen 39; Rashid 3-32) by 94 runs. Player of the Match: Jonny Bairstow.
Jonny Bairstow smashed a blistering hundred to help Yorkshire beat Worcestershire by 92 runs at the New Road. Bairstow, who was batting with a runner for six overs due to an ankle injury, thrashed 7 fours and 10 sixes in his 51-ball 112 before falling to Ben Dwarshuis (4-31) to take Yorkshire to 216/6 from 10/2. He was ably supported by Tom Kohler-Cadmore (53 off 33) and Harry Brook (22 off 12).
Moeen Ali (39) and Riki Wessels (32) initially kept Worcestershire’ hopes alive. The pair scored 67 runs for the second wicket before both fell to Adil Rashid (3-32). Worcestershire wickets were falling in regular intervals, and in the end, they were bowled out for 122 in 16.3 overs. Their last seven wickets tumbled for 12 runs.
Leicestershire vs Warwickshire, Grace Road
Warwickshire 190/7 in 20 overs (Rhodes 79; Mike 4-22) beat Leicestershire 155 in 20 overs (Steel 46; Bresnan 3-29) by 35 runs. Player of the Match: Will Rhodes.
Will Rhodes (79 in 40 balls) and Sam Hain (45) guided Warwickshire beat Leicestershire by 35 runs at the Grace Road. The pair forged a 113-run opening stand to help Warwickshire reach 190/7 after being opted to bat first. It was maiden T20 fifty for Rhodes, who was dropped on 27 at long on.
Danny Briggs (3-35) and Tim Bresnan (3-29) did the most damage for Warwickshire; Scott Steel top-scored with 46 before Leicestershire were all out for 155 on the final ball of the match. Lewis Hill (26* off 20) was the last man standing.
