England beat West Indies by 34 runs in the fourth T20I, at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown to keep the five-match series alive. Both teams have now won two matches each.
Fifties from Jason Roy and Moeen Ali took England to 193/6. In response, Brandon King and Kyle Mayers added 64 for the first wicket. Mayers hit two sixes in Moeen's opening spell. When Tymal Mills came into the attack in the fifth over, Mayers welcomed him with two fours and a six. King, too, joined the party with consecutive fours off Chris Jordan.
But England managed to pull things back after the Powerplay. Moeen himself provided the breakthrough, getting rid of Mayers (40). The scoring rate slumped drastically, and West Indies lost two more wickets in quick succession.
Moeen claimed King as well, while Adil Rashid bowled Rovman Powell. Jason Holder tried to revive the chase with a 24-ball 36, but the West Indies could only manage 159/5.
Earlier, Roy (52) and James Vince (34) added 85 for the second wicket after England lost Tom Banton in the second over. But Moeen notched his fast T20I fifty – in 23 balls – to lift England to 193/6. He scored 63 off 28 before falling in the last over. For West Indies, Holder claimed three wickets.
