Jason Holder (5- 27) took the last four England wickets in four balls to seal a memorable 17-run win for West Indies at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Before Holder's act, Akeal Hosein ran through England to reduce them to 119/6 after West Indies set them 180.
With 20 needed off the final over, Holder dismissed Chris Jordan, Sam Billings, Adil Rashid, and Saqib Mahmood to become the first West Indies bowler to do the hat-trick in T20Is. He finished the series with 15 wickets in five games.
For England, Jason Roy got off the mark straightaway with two fours, an was caught behind while attempting a sweep off the fifth ball. Tom Banton struck two fours and a six before falling to Odean Smith. Moeen Ali then took 19 balls for his 14.
James Vince kept the scoreboard ticking, scoring 55 in 35 balls. Sam Billings, too, kept England in the game with a 28-ball 41 before he ended up becoming Holder's second wicket.
Earlier, Brandon King (34) and Kyle Mayers (31) got West Indies added 59 for the opening stand. However, they got stuck in the middle overs, as Adil Rashid bowled a frugal spell in which he removed Mayers and Romario Shepherd. Kieron Pollard (41 in 25 balls) and Rovman Powell (35 in 17) then lifted West Indies from 105/4 to 179/4.
