Losing two early wickets pushed West Indies on the back foot after they dominated almost all of Day 1 at Sabina Park. They bundled Pakistan out for 217, but Mohammad Abbas marked his comeback by removing Kieran Powell and Nkrumah Bonner with back-to-back deliveries to put his team in the front.

Powell edged to Imran Butt at the second slip, while Bonner was trapped leg-before. West Indies finished the day on 2/2, trailing by 215.

Earlier, Pakistan's openers again failed to get them to a solid start. Kemar Roach bowled Butt through the gate early, while Abid Ali fell to Jayden Seales.

Azhar Ali looked compact before becoming Seales' second victim of the day, for 17. Soon, Babar Azam holed out to Joshua da Silva off Roach, but the umpire was not convinced. Kraigg Brathwaite went for a review, and the ultraedge confirmed a feeble touch.

If not for Fawad Alam's half-century, Pakistan's innings would have been wrapped inside 200. Fawad came to the crease at 123/5, played a gritty knock, added 86 with Faheem Ashraf for the seventh wicket, and took Pakistan to a respectable total.

Faheem missed a half-century by six runs, while Fawad was undone by Holder on 56. Holder got Abbas to skittle the visitors out for 217. Seales and Holder picked up three wickets each.

Brief scores: Pakistan 217 ( Fawad Alam 56; Jason Holder 3-26) lead West Indies 2/2 (Kraigg Brathwaite 1*; Mohammad Abbas 2-0) by 215 runs.
