For the Hurricanes, Sasha Moloney got 3-17, while Ruth Johnston and Tayla Vlaeminck claimed two wickets each.

Half-centuries from Georgia Redmayne (54) and Grace Harris (50) went in vain as Brisbane Heat were restricted to 153/9 while chasing 163. Redmayne and Harris got the Heat off a decent start, adding 99 for the opening wicket, but the next three batters managed 3 between them.

Earlier, Sammy-Jo Johnson (52) and Smriti Mandhana (29) got added 58 for the Thunder before a late surge from Deepti Sharma propelled them to 162/5.
