Adelaide Strikers 142/4 in 20 overs (Van Niekerk 44; Strano 2-23) beat Hobart Hurricanes 94 in 18.2 overs (Du Preez 21; Brown 3-19) by 48 runs. Player of the Match: Darcie Brown.

Adelaide Strikers beat Hobart Hurricanes by 48 runs in Match 43 of the WBBL 2021 in Mackay. They posted 142/4 after being put in, and bowled the Hurricanes out for 94 in 18.2 overs.

Dane van Niekerk top-scored for the Strikers, with a 38-ball 44. Tahlia McGrath made an unbeaten 37-ball 38 and Bridget Patterson made 17-ball 25. Molly Strano returned 2-23.

The Hurricanes were never really on the chase before skittling out for a paltry total. Darcie Brown was the pick of the Strikers bowler, with 3-19, while Megan Schutt finished with 1-17.

Sydney Sixers v Brisbane Heat

Sydney Sixers 91/7 in 20 overs (Bolton 25; Jonassen 3-15) lost to Brisbane Heat 92/7 in 14.1 overs (Redmayne 19; Cheatle 3-16) by 3 wickets with 35 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Courtney Grace Sippel.

Brisbane Heat beat Sydney Sixers by three wickets in Match 44. They restricted the Sixers to 91/7 and reached the target with 35 balls to spare.

Nicole Bolton (25) and Radha Yadav (17*) were the only Sixers batters to cross 10. Courtney Grace Sippel returned figures of 4-1-12-1, while Jess Jonassen finished with 3-15. Nadine de Klerk and Poonam Yadav also went for under five an over, taking a wicket each.

The Heat kept losing wickets regularly, but eventually chased down the below-par target inside 15 overs. Lauren Cheatle (3-16) and Maitlan Brown (4-1-14-2) bowled accurately, but were not enough.
