Perth Scorchers beat Sydney Sixers by eight wickets in Match 55 of the WBBL 2021 in Adelaide. They restricted the Sixers to 128/4 and chased down the target with 17 balls to spare.

Ellyse Perry top-scored for the Sixers, with a 37-ball 39, while Alana King took 3-18 for the Scorchers, who then rode on Chloe Piparo’s unbeaten 39-ball 50 and Heather Graham’s unbeaten 24-ball 34 to get the job done in the 18th over.

Adelaide Strikers v Melbourne Stars

Adelaide Strikers 175/3 in 20 overs (Mack 89; Sutherland 2-33) lost to Melbourne Stars 181/1 in 19.3 overs (Villani 100*; Schutt 1-20) by 9 wickets with 3 balls to spare. Player of the Match: Elyse Villani.

Elyse Villani’s unbeaten 65-ball 100 helped Melbourne Stars to chase down 176 against Adelaide Strikers with nine wickets and three balls to spare, in Match 56. Meg Lanning (50 in 39 balls) and Annabel Sutherland (27* in 13) also chipped in useful contributions for the Stars. Megan Schutt returned 1-20, but received little support.

Earlier, Katie Mack scored an unbeaten 67-ball 89 and Madeline Penna an unbeaten 34-ball 56 to take the Strikers to 175/3 after they opted to bat. Sutherland took 2-33 and Kim Garth 1-40.
