A last-ball defeat against Perth Scorchers knocked Melbourne Stars out of the Playoffs race. With nine needed off the final over, Alana King hit a four before Taneale Peschel stole a single off the last ball to ensure a four-wicket win for the Scorchers. 

Heather Graham was adjudged Player of the Match for her 3-16 that restricted the Stars to 122/7. Barring Ellysse Villani, who scored 84 off 66, none of the Stars batters reached double figures. For the Scorchers, Mathilda Carmichael's 30 was the highest score.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers

In another low-scoring contest, Adelaide Strikers defeated Sydney Sixers by eight wickets and 58 balls in hand. Sarah Coyte and Darcie Brown claimed five wickets between them to bowl out the Strikers for 82. Dane Van Niekerk (33) and Katie Mack (22) then added 54 for the opening stand, as the Strikers completed the chase in 10.2 overs.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Thunder

Hobart Hurricanes 147/5 in 20 overs (du Preez 87*; Bates 2-22) beat Sydney Thunder 143/9 in 20 overs (Johnson 39; Vakarewa 3-8) by 4 runs. Player of the Match: Mignon du Preez

Mignon du Preez's unbeaten 87 (out of 147/5) and Belinda Vakarewa's 3-8 helped Hobart Hurricanes beat Sydney Thunder by four runs. Asked to chase 148, the Thunder could only manage 143/9. 

Smriti Mandhana got a duck, while Tahlia Wilson's dismissal reduced them to 10/2. Sammy-Jo Johnson (39) Deepti Sharma (31), and Anika Learoyd (34) tried to revive the chase with her thirties, but in vain. Other than Vakarewa, Sasha Moloney and Ruth Johnston claimed two wickets each. 

Brisbane Heat vs Melbourne Renegades

Brisbane Heat 156/5 in 20 overs (Redmayne 71; O'Donnell 2-26) beat Melbourne Renegades 113 in 18.1 overs (Dooley 35; Jonassen 3-10) by 43 runs. Player of the Match: Georgia Redmayne.

Melbourne Renegades succumbed to a 43-run defeat to Brisbane Heat at Harrup Park, Mackay. With that, the Renegades slipped to second place in the points table. They were bowled out for 113 while chasing 157. For Brisbane, Jess Jonassen claimed 3-9, while Nicola Hancock and Nadine de Klerk picked two wickets each. Georgia Redmayne was adjudged Player of the Match for 51-ball 71. Georgia Voll scored 41 off 30.
