Melbourne Renegades will be up against Adelaide Strikers in the Challenger of the Women's Big Bash League 2021/22. The winner will face Perth Scorchers in the final.
Having finished second in the points table, the Renegades will head into the contest off a four-run win against Sydney Thunder. An unbeaten 81 from Harmanpreet Kaur propelled them to an imposing total of 175/4. They have a balanced batting line-up. The opening pair of Evelyn Jones and Jemimah Rodrigues are followed by a robust middle-order, consisting of Kaur, Carly Leeson and Jess Duffin.
The Strikers, meanwhile, defeated Brisbane Heat by eight wickets in the Eliminator. Amanda-Jade Wellington took five wickets to restrict the Heat to 114/8. The Strikers then chased down the target in 16.3 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 50 from Katie Mack. Tahlia McGrath scored a 27-ball 38.
