Welsh Fire defeated Oval Invincibles by 12 runs in a low-scoring Match 15 of the Women’s Hundred, at The Oval. The Fire had struggled to reach 112/6 after Dane van Niekerk won the toss and asked them to bat. Georgia Redmayne and Sarah Taylor made 30 and 29 respectively, which never seemed enough after the first innings.

Alice Capsey, Tash Farrant, Mady Villiers and van Niekerk all claimed a wicket apiece. Van Niekerk was particularly impressive, with 1-10 in her 20 balls.

Coming to chase, the Invincibles were never able to shift the gear, thanks to disciplined bowling performance and some excellent catching by the Fire players. Hayley Matthews (3-23) did the most damage, as the Invincibles finished on 100/9.
