Trent Rockets vs Northern Superchargers, Trent Bridge
Northern Superchargers 149/7 in 100 balls (Rodrigues 60; Johnson 4-15) beat Trent Rockets 122/7 in 100 balls (Brunt 43; Levick 2-20) by 27 runs. Player of the Match: Jemimah Rodrigues.
Jemimah Rodrigues struck her second consecutive half-century to guide Northern Superchargers to a comfortable 27-run win against the Trent Rockets. With a second successive victory, the Superchargers have now climbed to the top of the points table.
Rodrigues was lucky to survive a leg-before shout on the first ball of the innings. Nat Sciver did not review, and the replay later showed three reds. Rodrigues went on to add 64 with both Lauren Winfield-Hill (33) for the first wicket and Laura Kimmince (31) for the third. She eventually fell to Sammy-Jo Johnson for 60.
Chasing 150 in 100 balls was always going to be difficult. Sciver and Katherine Brunt brought the Rockets back in the game after they lost two wickets for 36. Sciver made 33 off 23 before chipping one straight back to Hollie Armitage.
Brunt remained uneaten on 43, but she never found support at the other end. The Rockets could only manage 122/7 in 100 balls.
