Babar Azam fell agonisingly short of his double hundred, but his 196 helped Pakistan salvage a draw against Australia in the second Test. Babar fell edged to Marnus Labuschagne at short leg off Nathan Lyon. Mohammad Rizwan then held the fort, and his unbeaten 104 helped Pakistan finish on 443/7 after they were set 506. Lyon picked four wickets for Australia.

With four wins and three draws, Australia are still at the top of the points table for the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23. They are followed by Pakistan, who have won three matches and drawn two. England, meanwhile, languish at the bottom of the points table.
