India beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in the first Test of the two-match series, in Mohali. Ravindra Jadeja stole the show with his unbeaten 175 and nine wickets – five in the first, four in the second – to help India bowl out Sri Lanka for 174 and 178.
With this defeat, Sri Lanka has slipped from first to third place in the points table of the World test Championship 2021-23. India are still fifth, having won 65% of the points on offer.
