For the 2022–23 season, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Friday announced central contracts for 19 female players.
Mary-Anne Musonda, the captain of Zimbabwe, Josephine Nkomo, and Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano were all named in the Grade A+ category.
Precious Marange, Modester Mupachikwa, and Sharne Mayers are in Grade A, while Nomvelo Sibanda and Loreen Tshuma have contracts in Grade B.
Eleven players in total were nominated to the Grade C category.
Hamilton Masakadza, ZC Director of Cricket, stated, "As part of our commitment to the growth and development of our women's game, we are glad to confirm the awarding of central contracts to a remarkable group of 19 players."
"We believe this will not only boost the spirits of our players but also allow them to fully concentrate on their game ahead of a crucial period for our national team, which includes participation at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022 to be held in the United Arab Emirates in September," he continued.
