Zimbabwe ended up getting clean-swept by Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series. The closest they came to sniffing a victory was in the second ODI, where they had the tourists on the back foot, but Shakib Al Hasan stole the game with his unbeaten 96. In the last ODI, they put up a decent target of 299, but Bangladesh chased it down with two overs to spare.
Let's take a look at how the Zimbabwe cricketers did in the series.
Regis Chakabva 9 (M 3 R 164 Ave 54.66 SR 94)
Regis Chakabva topped the runs charts. He started the series with a half-century and made 26 in the second ODI before being asked to open the innings in the third. He stepped up and contributed with 84 off 91 deliveries.
Luke Jongwe 8 (M 3 W 6 Ave 23.50 Ec 5.87)
With six wickets in three matches, Luke Jongwe finished as the leading wicket-taker for the hosts. He was a bit expensive in the first game, conceding 51 runs in 9 overs, but picked up three wickets.
Wesley Madhevere 7.5 (M 3 R 66 Ave 22.66 W 3 Ave 40.33 Ec 4.65)
Madhevere could not make an impact as an opener in the first ODI. Slotted in the middle order for the next game, he responded with a brilliant half-century. He failed with the bat in the third ODI, but got two wickets.
Brendan Taylor 6.5 (M 3 R 98 Ave 32.66 SR 77)
Taylor could not live up to the expectations after a terrific performance in the Test match. He was unlucky to get hit wicket on 46 in the second match.
Richard Ngarava 6.5 (M 2 W 3 Ave 31.33 Ec 4.94)
Ngarava claimed two wickets in the first ODI but ended up leaking 61 runs from his quota of 10 overs. He was dropped for the last ODI.
Ryan Burl 6 (M 2 R 65 Ave 32.50 SR 108)
Burl made 59 off 43 to help his team post a challenging total in the last ODI. He smashed four fours and as many sixes in his innings.
Sikandar Raza 6 (M 2 R 87 Ave 43.50 SR 89 W 1 Ave 56.00)
Raza played the last two ODIs, and made a quickfire 57 in the last match to help Zimbabwe post 298. He bowled 11 overs across two games, and got one wicket.
Blessing Muzarabani 6 (M 3 W 3 Ave 40.33 Ec 4.45)
A lot was expected from Muzarabani. While economical throughout the series, he had only three wickets to show for. He remained wicketless in the last ODI.
Dion Myers 5.5 (M 3 R 86 Ave 28.66 SR 71)
Dion Myers got starts on all three occasions, but could not convert them into big totals. He made 18 in the first ODI, and 34 in each of the last two games.
Donald Tiripano 4 (M 1 W 2 wickets Ave 30.50 Ec 8.71)
In the only ODI he played, Tiripano got out for a golden duck. He was very expensive with the ball but picked up two wickets, including Tamim Iqbal.
Tendai Chatara 3 (M 3 W 1 wicket Ave 157 Ec 6.28)
Not a good campaign for Chatara, who was lucky to feature in all three games.
Tadiwanashe Marumani 2 (M 3 R 21 Ave 7 SR 51)
Marumani squandered all three opportunities he got as an opener. He got out for a duck in the first ODI, and has scored of 13 and 8 in the next two.
Tinashe Kamunhukamwe 1 (M 1 R 1 Ave 1)
Kamunhukamwe opened the innings in the second ODI and made 1.
Timycen Maruma N/A (M 1)
Maruma got an opportunity in the first ODI but got injured while fielding. He could not bowl.
